Six Reasons to Consider Philadelphia Condominiums

There are still a lot of people who are renting instead of owning, and they should probably be considering Philadelphia condominiums. Some people have been renting instead of owning because they simply think they can’t afford to won anything. Many of the Philadelphia condos for sale are affordable enough that the mortgage payments are as much as or a little more than rent. The down payments on many of the Philadelphia condos on the market are also very low, and there are a lot of incentives in this competitive market.

Six of the best reasons to consider Philadelphia condominiums rather than continuing to rent include:

· Affordability – Philadelphia condos are less expensive than single family homes

· Amenable to a busy lifestyle

· Builds equity while the owner enjoys homeownership benefits

· Closer to work, shopping, dining, entertainment and culture

· Luxurious amenities

· Reduced maintenance required from homeowners

Philadelphia condominiums tend to be less expensive; about 20 percent to 30 percent less than existing singly family homes. Price alone is not solely the factor for choosing Philadelphia condos, though, as there is a new market for luxury condos in prime locations within close distance to cultural centers or in gated communities with golf courses.

People who travel a lot for work are also attracted to Philadelphia condos for sale, because they are less likely to look abandoned when the owners are away for extended periods. There is also more security on staff around Philadelphia condos, which is another added bonus. Consumers are becoming more attracted to higher density urban housing in general, though, and not just because Philadelphia condominiums are safer. Home buyers want to be near public transportation, shopping and work.

All of the amenities that come with Philadelphia condos for sale such as gyms, pools and community centers, are located right on site, too, and buyers don’t have to maintain them. The maintenance costs are usually included in the monthly homeowner’s association fee, though, so this should be budgeted into the cost of Philadelphia condos for sale. A detached single family home requires a lot of maintenance to keep it in prime condition, unlike Philadelphia condos. Condominium also requires maintenance, but the homeowners' association is responsible for the upkeep of the grounds and all common amenities.

Philadelphia condominiums have many benefits that people who are still renting should consider, especially because owning property is always better for one’s financial future and current lifestyle.
